My Report:

8-11-2012 Spring Creek to Magnolia Bridge (4 miles) leaders by Knox and Holly. The group of six met at 11 AM and did not get on the water until around 12. There were crowds of people and they made it difficult to get through some of the narrow sections of the river. There was a light rain at the end of the trip and it felt good.
Spring Creek comes from Merritts Mill Pond which comes from a dam at US-90 that captures the water from Blue Springs. At low water levels the creek has several rocky shoals, but only one was reported on this trip.
The USGS gage at Marianna (North of Spring Creek) showed a depth of approximately 5.2 feet, with around 190 cfs. This is about half the normal cfs value for this time of the year.
The USGS gage at Altha (South of Spring Creek) showed a depth of approximately 8.4 feet, with a cfs that was a little over 400. The rain gage showed a light rain after 3 PM, but our intrepid paddlers report a larger amount. But hay it felt good. Nothing says the rain has to fall on the gage.
Spring Creek is on Highway 90 east of Marianna. There are two ways to get in the creek. There is Spring Creek Park on the south side of 90, and also Turner's Landing which provides a flat, sandy spot to put in.
Location information 30.75311,-85.193256 which is 4289 US 90, Marianna, Fl 32446 for the non-GPS people. From I-10 exit 142 go toward Marianna, 0.4 miles and merge onto SR 71 North for 1.8 miles. Then turn left onto US 90 and go 0.4 miles to the putin on the South side of the bridge. The take out is on the south side of Magnolia Bridge river right. Google directions to the take out: Head southeast on US 90 toward Belmont Lane 0.4 miles, turn right onto SR-71 for 2.5 miles. Then turn right onto Magnolia Rd. 1.0 mile the destination will be across the bridge and on the left. Note: parking can be a problem a times. GPS 30.75311,-85.193256
