(Wacissa Springs Headwaters) This is a 9 mile trip from the headwaters to Goose Pasture. The river is very wide except for a 3 mile section near the end. There are lots of birds and wildlife.

Hey Erik,

We went on the Wacissa a week later (to Goose Pasture) and, fortunately did not do the Slave Canal. Someone at the put-in asked about the conditions in the canal and we had to say we didn't know. Hope he didn't try to do that -- he had a partner who said she just liked floating -- they were not in a tandem kayak. Saw your posts on the FPCKC web and you might want to sign up to get (and send) e-mails to their list (no fee). Parts of Eglin had a fire and some of the streams you noted may have been in those areas. Just send out an e-mail asking about those Eglin rivers on the FPCKC email list and you'll get a report from paddlers in the know. But you have to sign up, first. Happy paddling!
