(CR63 Bridge NW Columbia,GA) This is a fast running stream with high banks and bluffs. That is very deep, with few places to get out. It is a good idea to have good skills at controlling your boat in fast-moving waters.

(Omussee Creek CR 63 Bridge) Omussee Creek always seems to have fast water moving through it whether it is low or high. There are high banks with rock strata showing multiple layers, small water falls, seeps and ferns. Low water makes the river more technical.

In 18 years of occasionally paddling Omussee Creek, I haven't seen it running this powerfully. And the water got higher after we left.

Thre days of rain boosted rivers throughout the area, and this was an opportunity to see Omussee Creek in fine form. The weather was very cold, but the trip was worth it.

almost forgot,one of the mills is impossible for boat traffic to pass,so a large part of creek is all yours! gotta love that

omussee is a great creek.if you go up to henry co, rd 63 and put in it makes for a great casual day.lots of little down hill sections,high banks,two old mills.you finish at the omussee park on the chattahochee river.its near columbia al.se corner of alabama.park closes at dark but gate isnt locked.
