Cold water is coming...

So be on the lookout for these guys:
Shark!

(and, while you'll probably by wearing wetsuit in the winter, try NOT to look too much like a seal.)

Who knew Great Whites were picky - thought they'd eat anything. I suppose the difference in seal flesh and plastic is noticeable to them as well.
Seriously though, staying in the water for 30 minutes after the attack would indeed be petrifying, as the women said. I would certainly rather get back in a boat if possible, raft up with the other boats to keep my dangling legs out of the water. Even if it's half full of water it would probably be safer. Maybe they thought the shark may return for another bite?

This was the girls that in a later interview the father said the girls knew there were sharks out there and they went out to get pictures. It shouldn't have been totally unexpected.

You should also recall that the great whites visit Jacksonville beaches. I think "Mary" is a great white the researchers have tracked to 50 yards off of Jax Beach. I'm thinking the great whites can be bothersome, but BULL SHARKS are more of a menance to Florida.

In any event don't swim with seals, mullet or other sea food buffets.
