Three of us are paddling and river camping lower Suwannee for four days, three nights on 16-19 Sept. and are looking for five more paddlers to join us. We're starting at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park and taking out in Branford, FL. We'll be paddling an average of 18 miles a day, which will be easy since the river is high and fast-flowing right now....the river is so fast that you can leisurely paddle four miles in an hour. We'll be primitive camping the first night and staying at Dowling and Peacock Slough river camps the next two nights. We're a fun and laidback group, so come join us!

Hope someone in your group will write a report for those of us who plan, eventually, to do the Suwanee.

Be happy there is some current on the Suwannee. When I paddled it in 2009 there was no current, and if we stopped paddling the wind blew up back upstream.

In 2007; three of us paddled most of the Suwanee...Georgia to Yellow Jacket boat ramp. Half of our trip ended at Spirit of the Suwanee. I'm not able to join this trip but look forward to a later date trip. ENJOY!!!
