14 To Big For Florida Rivers And Springs?

I post this question because other than tight spots we love to paddle St.Lucie river, Intracoastal,Bays, Keys etc. We do plan for overnights as well and need some extra cargo space. Been looking at Hurricane Sojourn, Riot Kayaks Edge, Venture Kayaks Islay. Hard to find the latter two anywhere in Florida even just to look at. Also not interested in delicate boats. I've crossed the water to Indian key in a blow-up canoe my buddy had so I realize a 12 can go where a 14 can however I just wonder if I should bother with a 12.

I've been using a 15.5 foot Wilderness systems boat in some of the smaller creeks and it's worked out fine.
