Request for introductions, huh. Always hate doing these things, but here goes.
Been boating almost my whole life, everything from building 8 foot dinghies to sailing with the US Navy and almost everything in between. Last year I broke down and bought my first really human powered craft, a Hobie Tandem Kayak with their pedal driven Mirage Drives.

I've always loved this concept of pedaling, I used a folding pedal powered catamaran when I was a kid which we had to lug down to the local canal. Some of my favorite memories came from those days on the water. Also my wife is not really fond of paddling and wanted to only use one boat, so hence the tandem mirage drive kayak. We really enjoy this kayak and have already had some good trips. I post my first trip report which is about our Memorial Day trip this year in the Fort Pierce Inlet. It was a perfect day for kayaking!

Since last year, we have been exploring our section of the state and going out as often as we can. Found this site and it looks like a great way to share experiences. Hope to see some of you out on the water some time.
