I needd to store my kayak from the ceiling. I have a Twin Otter from Old Town, 68 lbs. Any suggestions that will work with an 8ft. ceiling? I need to park my car under the kayak.

Why do you "have to" store it from the ceiling ? I just put mine on top of two old syrofoam coolers. If its a space issue, a couple saw horses will lift it off the floor, and you can place other items beneath.

I wish it were that easy. I have cabinets on my walls from the floor up, no room to store on top there plus too high. I must store from ceiling to get the height.

I got a Kayak Hanger online for $26.99. It hangs from ceiling and has good reviews. Holds up to two yaks. Here's the link or just go to cabelas.com and search kayak hanger. Kayak Hanger

Not sure where you are, but you can get just what you are looking for @ Sweetwater kayaks in St. Pete, I don't remember the product name, but it is like the Harken Hoister but at a fraction of the price. I use this system to hang 2 kayaks in my garage. Since you only have eight feet you will probably need to mount the hanger close to the back wall of your garage so that the open door will not interfere w/ the lines. When the door in up & the kayak is hanging the stern will be hanging under your garage door. Hope that helps, Chuck
