We (3 people) launched about 10:30am, there was 3 couples ahead of us with camping gear, hoping for a blissful weekend.

My Report:

As we gathered at one long jam of many more to come, we noticed they were not that experienced in tandem canoes. We got everyone across and continued ahead of them. It was not 10 minutes before encountered limbo logs and many more log jams. Overall, we counted 15 limbo logs, 6 logs we went over, one snake, some turtles, birds of varying kinds and beautiful weather the whole trip. Some of these trees will require using a good chainsaw to clear many of the log jams. As the water level rises, there will be more pull overs or portages. Next time I go; I'll have my chainsaw and hopefully some form of a working crew, then we can open it up more.

Special Interests and Comments:

Special InterestsThis trip is currently for stronger people with the stamina to keep climbing in/out of your boat and lug it across these big trees. Many are 10-18" in diameter, some go all the way across the creek.
