My Report:

Trip Report, Paddling McGraw Williams Park, near vero Beach, Florida, Nov 14, 2009

The trip began on a sunny saturday am in November. My paddling buds and I launched from the sandy borders of the boat basin, then paddled north through a marina with many moored and very large sailboats. Very pretty.

From the marina, we paddled north and west into the boat channel for a short distance. It was very windy and the waves broke over my bow, about 1 foot. Great in a sea kayak, not so wonderful in a sit-on-top kayak..

We then headed back east into the maze of mangrove islands. There were many fish and birds including a manatee and dolphins. A good sense of direction is required. See map in pics

Remember to take and wear a PFD. Have water, snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellant on hand in case an excursion takes longer than expected.
