Yancy Bridge to Magnolia Bridge

My Report:

The Apalachee Canoe and Kayak Club went on a trip on the Chipola River from the Yancee Bridge to the Magnolia Bridge on Sunday, September 11, 2011. It was a perfect day. The weather was in the high 80's with not much humidity and sometimes a little breeze. The water was very low - some say they had not ever seen it this low. It was tricky to maneuver around the low water areas - between logs and the low water also created lots of shoals - which were actually fun to maneuver. We had a good group headed by Gwen Beatty and Red Cherry. We stopped to have lunch at the new Greenway park, Hinson Conservation and Recreation Area. I didn't see any turtles this time, but some immature ibis and hawks.
