Alabama state line to Kennedy Road Bridge.

My Report:

This section of the Blackwater River is described in:

A Canoeing and Kayaking Guide to the Streams of Florida - Volume I (1985)
A Canoeing and Kayaking Guide to Florida (2005)
Canoeing and Kayaking Florida (2007)
...basically the same book.

I added the section from the state line since it is only 1/2 mile and has few obstructions. I did not see a state line marker at the state line, as seen on several other rivers.

I had originally planned to include the 5 mile section from Chesser Bridge with the 30 mile trip I completed yesterday from Kennedy Bridge to Deaton Bridge. I am glad I did not. I encountered approximately 60 log crossings and approximately 20 log jams. It took four hours to complete this section, and as much energy as completing the 30 mile run from Kennedy Bridge to Deaton Bridge. However, this section is the most scenic of all the sections downstream to Deaton Bridge and worth the effort.

The gauge height at Bradley, AL (http://waterdata.usgs.gov/al/nwis/uv?site_no=02369800) was 0.98 feet this morning when I departed. Higher would be better and ~6" lower would result in many groundings.
