Merritt's Mill Pond is created by a dam at Highway 90 just east of Marianna. The dam contains the water issuing from Jackson Blue Spring and the outflow from the dam creates Spring Creek, another great paddling site.

(MMP at Hunter Fish Camp Rd) This was a short paddle from the public boat ramp on Hunter Fish Camp Road up to Jackson Blue Springs and back. There is a park that charges a fee from May to September, but paddlers get out there during the off season. Lots of spring cave divers also.

The neighborhood association on Merritt's Millpond created a nice map with all the springs identified with GPS marks, and laminated it and I purchased a couple for $5.00 each. Bentley and I each had one of these maps on the paddle.

So, yes, Ed, I have the GPS marks for Shangri-la Springs: 30 47.431.N, 085 08.573W

Frances, thanks for the report! Looks like you and Bentley had a good time paddling. I'm impressed by the size of the cliff above Shangri-La Spring. Would like to see photos looking down if Bentley can upload them to Green Wave. Do you have GPS Coordinates for Shangri-La?
