Ocheesee Pond is 3/4 mile flat water paddling to a Cypress Forest. Trees were turning colors and losing needles. Few places to get out. Tagged trees are followed through trails in the trees. Very pretty place.

I grew up near Ocheesee, my Aunt and Uncle ran a fish camp there. I would guide folks to fish, during summers. Had a national reputation in 50's and 60's as a haven for huge bass and blue gill. Last few years of drought has taken a toll on it. But when navigable, it is a bird paradise, as heron and egret rookeries abound. It is a place of primordial beauty and peace.and quiet.

Ocheesee is a great place. I grew up there and lived on the north side at my Dads fish camp. My dad put up all of those triangle reflectors back in the 70's. Plenty of nature to see. Watch out for the big gators.... lol

Gpax - Thanks for sharing the photos! Awesome fall colors. Another place I have to add to my list of future paddling trips. Does sound / look confusing in getting through the cypress swamp.

The GPS track taken by a WFCKC club members who gave permission to post it on the Greenwave indicates swamp which is not navigatable. One of the images included with this report would seem to indicate a large area of open water. That is not the case, there are deep, open trails that even fishermen in motor boats use, but it is necessary to stay within the trail boundaries.
