Great photos and a nice trip report. When I did Rocky Creek in 2008 we did the long trip going downstream. Both trip reports (Bentley's in 2010)
mention all the downfall. I think I need to try the up and back paddle and see the picnic table.

Bently - welcome to Green Wave Forum and thanks for the trip report on Rocky Creek. "20 seconds into our journey was obstacle one of oh I don't know about 20+ portage spots". Wow - that's one heck of a trip for any group!

Bentley: So sorry for the mistake in the directions and the problem it created for your paddling group. I have gone back in and edited so it now says to go west. As you know, I did that paddle a couple years ago, once is enough, although the new section of Dry Creek I recently paddled is probably as tough. The day the group I was with paddle we did some cutting, but it wouldn't have lasted for a couple years. Kudos for seeing a wonderful stream and toughing it out.

Wow - very cool - excellent report. I really enjoyed paddling at Rocky Bayou a few years back and wish I could have read your report back then to find/see that jet.

A downed jet. Now that's something I have yet to see. That's why I love kayakiig. Something new every time. Great report.

Nice trip report Frances! It brings back memories of paddling Rocky Bayou State Park. With the number of deadfalls and having to "cut" your way through, I'm with you on the difficultly rating. The area sure is beautiful and Rocky Bayou SP makes a great place to camp. Take care!
