The Indian River Lagoon is a great paddling site, stretching from Jupiter to Titusville. There are many boat ramps and access sites and there are many large and small islands for camping, picnicking, and birdwatching. A paddler could select any distance.

I paddled the stretch from Vero to Sebastian March 25. It was windy, oddly again out of the south, and we had a great paddle, ending at Capt Hiram's.

I think you and Lynette are dedicated paddlers that know your abilities and limitations. The canoer also knew limitations and wisely got off the water.
