Lake Talquin State Park is located west of Tallahassee. It is a fairly recent park and at the present time for day use only. There is a pavilion, a canoe launch, and a lovely boardwalk on the edge of Lake Talquin.

The website for Lake Talquin State Park mentions canoing at the park, so this report was to find out about paddling on Lake Talquin and the canoe launch at the park.

I dropped an e-mail to the State Parks site, and received this message from the manager of Lake Talquin State Park:'

"To answer your question about Lake Talquin State Park. The park was opened to the public in 1971. At this time we have no canoe rentals at the park but my understanding is there are rentals on the north end of the lake, try calling Pat Thomas Park at 875-4544. There are plans in the future to build a campground and cabins along the bluffs next to the lake. It may be several years before the new facilities will be constructed. The boat launch is owned and managed by Leon County at this time. Thank you for you’re interested in Lake Talquin State Park and hopefully you will visit the park soon.
