Looks like an interesting paddle. But, and this is coming from someone who has misidentified lots of wildlife, the "blue heron" looks a lot like a tri colored heron.

How nice to read the descriptive prose of your report, Slashpine. The pictures reminded me a little of the paddles off the Apalachicola River in the Wildlife Management Area. At first I thought that it was rather monotonous, but after an hour or so I began to understand the beauty of the sky, clouds, water and found it very peaceful.
