(Pond Creek from Mayo Park) Going North from Mayo Park off of 90 on Pond Creek is not an easy paddle, but it is very enjoyable. Lots of downed trees and low hanging branches.

(Hamilton Bridge Rd to Hwy 90) Pond Creek above Hwy 90 is nothing at all like the lower section. It is twisty and narrow with a nice current. All the trees that you dodge make it a technical experience. Right now, it is only open from Arcadia Mills down.

This was a round trip paddle from a Santa Rosa County Park with a boat ramp located in Bagdad to the Taco Bell in Milton, Florida located on Highway 90. This creek has been connected to Florida history and commerce since the Spanish Era in the 1700s.

Read this Trip Report! It's a tale of kayak paddling, pelicans, Taco Bell, Bagdad and losing my memory, all on Pond Creek, Milton's urban waterway.

No surprise. Just reporting my observations and inquiring about Clear Creek. Thanks for the information!

Hey Erik.

Hope those logs weren't a surpise (they are in an old trip report).

Clear Creek used to be local favorite apparently. However Ivan did a number on it and it is blocked. I don't know whether is just dozens or hundreds of trees though. It is on our long term to do list for clearing out.

Have you joined the FPCKC? Free NWF online paddling group. Good for getting together for local trips AND getting the lastest news and info on any local creek.

Just do an internet search for FPCKC and you'll find it. Also, while there check out Jim Parkers website linked there. A wealth of good info.

Just looked at Truetazfan's pictures, and the large black bird looked like a Crow to me, and the blue flowers are Pickerel,

TTF, looks like you figured out how to post a report pretty quickly.

Haven't I paddled with you somewhere? Your profile sounds like someone I know!

Great report, I will be sure to avoid this section of Pond Creek until the chainsaw welding fellows get it opened the entire 5 miles.
