A lot of people on this stream since it was Saturday. It is a pretty, completely natural paddle, but there was congestion at the many impediments that are the nature of Juniper Run.

My Report:

Juniper Run is a challenging paddle. The stream is narrow and flows briskly. Often passage is restricted by fallen trees. The shoreline is completely natural, just swamp.

There were many boats on the stream this Saturday and there were backlogs at many of the impediments. This presented a problem in that once you lose headway waiting for the passage to clear, you can be carried into the debris. Recovering can be very challenging.

There is little time to photograph, as you must be constantly alert to the conditions to avoid turning over. But, if you like a challenging paddle, you would have enjoyed this one.
