Juniper Springs Run

My Report:

Smile
Ok, todays paddle was one of the funniest times that we have had on the Juniper Run. Andy, our "Florida Tourist" found out that Juniper is not the run to take on your FIRST paddle! He liked being in the water more than being in his kayak. Thanks to Scott for bringing him as our "show" for the day.

Sharon found out that the current was swift on the Juniper as well.

Folks, at mile 4, a new spring opened up on Juniper after Fay came through. As you are approaching mile 4, you look ahead of you and see some "Florida Rapids". Well, look directly to your right and you can see the springs oozing from the shore. The flow picks up to about 5 to 6 miles per hour. It is said by the rangers that it is 7mph but it does not seem to be that fast. Beware however, it is still a wild ride. Fun to say the least.
If you missed it, well, you just missed it. We had a blast.
