You're right for overall paddling - but I was rating that paddle so for a full moon trip it was a 3!

I believe this spot deserves more than a rating of 3 on a 5-point scale as there are marvelous winding mangrove creeks, usually stocked with fairly numerous fish in the clear waters, a large bay (Largo Sound), access north & south to the rest of oceanside areas of Key Largo, and multiple access points to the Atlantic itself. The paddling is fine for beginners along most of the paddling trails, and offer even experienced paddlers some good workouts when the wind is up, running down the outside of El Radabob Key, the island immediately adjacent to and virtually indistinguishable from Key Largo. Plus, if you're up to it, you can paddle out to some interesting snorkeling spots on the inner reef.

I'd give it a 4...
