(Econfina Livery) On a clear and cold day, 14 avid paddlers showed up at the Econfina Livery for a paddle down Econfina Creek. By the time we finished the shuttle, the temperature had moderated, and the group had a wonderful time.

Definitely check out paddlesolo's awesome pictures. You can see how nice this creek is. In the summer, it can be quite crowded, but for some reason our group was the only people on the river this day.

Actually what one of us said after getting half of her body wet was "The water isn't as cold as I expected it to be" Fortunately no one got wet when the temperature was 20 degrees which was early morning.

The Econfina is always a treat. Saturday the water was crystal clear. We saw ice in canoes at the livery where we launched but we were all warm on the river. The bullfrog tadpoles have reached a very large size. Some were eight inches long. Loads of fish and birds were spotted. One hawk thought we were of great interest and several ducks scrambled to stay ahead of us. If you haven't paddle this creek, you have missed a treat. The springs are bright blue and easy to find. A super time was had by all. The swimmers reported the water to be very refreshing. What a great place to paddle!
