About Us

Hello and welcome to Central Florida Kayak Trips. The two individuals responsible for creating and maintaining this web site are Ed and Treva Schessl. Ed works in IT and Treva in graphic arts. Both enjoy sea kayaking and look forward to each and every trip.

This online work attempts to document some of the spectacular paddling locations that Central Florida has to offer. The sections on equipment and basic skills are designed to share some knowledge and provide instruction for the novice kayaker.

A big THANK YOU goes to our kayak buddies John, Penny, Walt, Janet, Ken, Alicia, Donna, Dan, Stefan, Scott, Robin, Roman, Dean, Hank, Craig and last, but not least, everyone in the Tampa Bay Sea Kayakers club for allowing us to use their photographs.

Photos taken in 1998 to 2001 were captured with a trusty Olympus 35mm camera and converted to digital format using a Umax Vista scanner. Newer photographs were taken with Hewlett Packard and Sony digital cameras. Some of the photos may appear grainy due to reduced resolution in the interest in file size and image load time. Remember, this site is copyrighted, including all photos, so please do not use them without written permission from Ed Schessl.
